Free access for NYG&B members to Findmypast.com’s United States and Canadian Collections starts today

The NYG&B has partnered with Findmypast to significantly improve and expand the digital resources available to NYG&B members. Free access for NYG&B Members to U.S. and Canadian Collections on Findmypast.com begins on June 1. Every current NYG&B member has been sent an email containing a unique voucher code to activate their free subscription. If you are a member and did not receive your email, please notify us at webmaster@nygbs.org. (Please do check your junk mail folder and promotions folders first.)

NYG&B members may now search millions of U.S. and Canadian records, including:

  • the complete U.S. Census, 1790-1940
  • U.S. Passenger Lists, 1820s-1950s
  • birth, marriage, and death records from across the U.S.
  • U.S. and Canadian newspapers
  • the PERiodical Source Index (PERSI)
  • plus many more

And NYG&B members may also create an online family tree and use Findmypast’s new Hints feature to accelerate their research. Free access to Findmypast is a benefit of NYG&B membership and will continue as long as an NYG&B membership is maintained.

This summer, NYG&B members will enjoy a new eLibrary of NYG&B collections with vastly improved search capability powered by Findmypast. And NYG&B members will be offered the chance to purchase an FMP World subscription at a 50% discount.  Members will receive an email update with full details in June.
