Henry Louis Gates, Jr.Next Thursday, January 22, 2015, noted Harvard scholar and NYG&B trustee Henry Louis Gates, Jr. explores the complex history of African Americans, highlighting the vast social, political, and cultural legacies that have emerged in American history at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Professor Gates’ appearance serves as an introduction to the upcoming series of screenings and talkbacks from his Peabody Award-winning PBS series The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Tickets are $20 General Admission / $15 for Brooklyn Historical Society Members and can be purchased online via http://brooklynhistory.org/visitor/calendar.html.
