News You Can Use in Your New York Family History Research:
- The Museum of the City of New York has added more materials to its online Collections Portal. The Museum of the City of New York also has interactive online exhibitions featuring maps of Staten Island and Manhattan’s Randel farm maps.
- The New Netherland Institute, in addition to recently adding the lecture slides from the 36th New Netherland Seminar to their website, have added two volumes of correspondence (Volume XI, 1647–1653 and Volume XII, 1653–1658) including official correspondence of Petrus Stuyvesant, Director-General of New Netherland, to their digitized publication collection.
- Harvard’s Schlesinger Library has been added to Flickr Commons. The Schlesinger Library collects the records of the history of women in America, and its holdings are among the strongest in the world in women’s rights and feminism; health and sexuality; and culinary history. Daguerreotypes, Women’s Suffrage posters, images from newspapers and more from their collections are now available online.
