The NYG&B is in Albany for our annual Research Trip. Attendees will enjoy a welcome reception, orientations to the NY State Archives and the NY State Library, a private consultation with a genealogical professional, three days of assisted research, a gala dinner with a talk, and much more, including the company of their fellow genealogical researchers.
Our research group is even now on their orientation of the New York State Library. Tonight they will enjoy the gala dinner with a special talk by genealogy legend Thomas W Jones, CG, CGL, FASG.
While it is too late to join the group for the festivities in Albany this year, you can always sign up to be notified in advance of the tickets becoming available for purchase by emailing Albany@nygbs.org and asking to be added to the waitlist for the 2014 trip.
Hopefully, while they are there, some of the researchers can take advantage of the many ghostly historical tours available in Albany during the season, such as the ‘Capitol Hauntings’ tour at the State Capitol building. The free tour runs twice a day on weekdays until November 1, although reservations are suggested. For more information, see: http://www.ogs.ny.gov/esp/CT/Tours/Capitol.asp
