New Search Engine for Newspaper Searches


There is a new search engine available for searching digital newspaper collections.  Elephind searches 14 collections in four countries, including the Library of Congress’ Chronicling America site, the National Library of Australia as well as a number of smaller repositories.   Elephind boasts more than 1,000 titles and a million issues from 1803 to 2011. Results can be manipulated by users to be sorted in a number of ways, such as by relevance, date, location, collection, and publication title.  Elephind contains some New York newspapers.  For more information, visit its website:
