For the first time in its history, the NYPL has put an entire manuscript collection online. The Emmet Collection (at archives.nypl.org/emmetcollection) includes approximately 10,000 letters and documents.
New York City’s Department of Correction has started a free online database of New York City’s Potter’s Field on Hart Island. The database currently includes 65,000 names, mostly of those buried after 1977, of the more than one million people buried there. More names will be added to the database as they become available.
